Washington Capitals’ Coach Bruce Boudreau Speaks: Team’s Skid Reaches 6 Games

The Washington Capitals' losing streak extended to six straight games when they fell to the New York Rangers by a score of 7-0 on Sunday night in Madison Square Garden.

The last time the Capitals lost by a seven-goal deficit was January 5th, 2006 when they sunk under the Pittsburgh Penguins by a score of 8-1. The shutout by the Rangers' Henrik Lundqvist was the worst shutout loss for the team since January 28th, 1986 when Mark Laforest and the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Caps 7-0 in Detroit.

Coach Bruce Boudreau spoke to the press following the game, "It is unfamiliar territory and I think we have a lot of people feeling sorry for themselves, but as you can tell when you get down, teams aren’t feeling sorry for you," Boudreau said. "They’re pushing it on and piling it on. So, we have to find a way to get out of this, before it’s too late."
