Vinny Prospal Wants to Come Back

One of the better free agent signings from a year ago happened was when the Rangers picked Vinny Prospal on a one-year $1.1 million deal off the scrap heap after the Tampa Lightning bought him out.

He had a very strong season and would have had an even better one if not for some mid-season arthroscopic surgery. At this point the Rangers need some work, just how much work is up for debate, but one of the question marks at this point is Prospal. They have not really made it clear how they feel about Prospal though, but he has made it clear he wants to stay.

“I was happy the New York Rangers took a chance with me,” Prospal said . “When I lost my job with the Lightning, I didn’t know what would happen. I was very glad I ended up as a New York Ranger.

“There is an interest on my end. I don’t like to change places in the first place. My kids, they need some stability. Hopefully, there will be interest on the New York Rangers’ end as well. I have an agent, we’ll have to do ...
