Vincent Lecavalier Injury: Updates on Flyers Star’s Foot and Return

October 13th, 2014 by donald wood Leave a reply »
Philadelphia Flyers forward Vincent Lecavalier will miss two weeks while recovering from a foot injury he suffered Saturday night against the Montreal Canadiens, according to NHL.com.

The 34-year-old veteran center had three points in three games (one goal and two assists), and he was a key part of the offensive game plan. This is Lecavalier’s second season with Philadelphia.

Despite Lecavalier’s hot start to the year, the Flyers are 0-2-1 through three games and have struggled defensively. Lecavalier is one of the better two-way forwards on the roster, and his forechecking will be missed while he is out.

Young centers like Sean Couturier and Brayden Schenn must step up during Lecavalier’s absence to stop the early struggles for the team.
