Vancouver Canucks Joel Perrault and Items You May Not Know

 I have already stated the obvious statistics about Joel Perrault when he was signed by the Canucks on free agency day, but I decided to do a little digging to see what else we didn’t know.

If you think, at age 27, that Perrault is going to be a late bloomer and his Upper Deck card is going to be of future value, you could purchase it now on ebay for $18.00 CDN.

Joel has had a tough and long climb to the NHL, which started with the 2001 Entry Draft where he was chosen 137th in round five.

He played three years in the QJMHL with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar and then the next three seasons in the AHL with Cincinnati Mighty Ducks (two) and Portland Pirates (one).

It was during his stint with the Portland Pirates in 2005/06 when it looked like he might be heading out of hockey with his demotion to the ECHL Augusta Lynx.

Fortunately, he was rescued by the San Antonio Rampage and the slow climb up to the NHL began.

That was short lived, as he bounced around for the next three seasons (2005-08), between short stints with the NHL Phoenix Coyotes, St. Louis Blues, then back to the AHL Peoria Rivermen, and fi ...
