Toronto Maple Leafs: Game 3 Recap and a Look Ahead to Game 4

The first Leafs home playoff game in nine years didn't quite go as planned, as the Boston Bruins took the win by a score of 5-2.

The Leafs started off the first period well, and Reimer made some key saves to keep the game even at zero.

Tyler Seguin, who has been buzzing around the net with numerous shots through the three games, almost capitalized on a great chance before being stopped by a huge Reimer save.

A few minutes later, Adam McQuaid gave the Bruins the lead with a point shot that deflected off of a Toronto stick. 

Shawn Thornton almost made it two zip when he made a nifty move and cut to the net, only to be stopped by the sprawling pad of the Leafs netminder.

The second period began with Toronto's first two shots being excellent scoring chances. Joffrey Lupul and Tyler Bozak very nearly tied up the game, but Tuukka Rask was up for the challenge and stopped them both.

Boston then upped their lead as the veteran Jaromir Jagr picked the pocket of Ryan O'Byrne behind the Leafs net and fed his open teammate Rich Peverely for the second Boston goal.
