This may be the first time in a long time that fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs have a genuine sense of hope and optimism for the future. We've heard the names before, Kadri, Kessel, Kulemin, there's a line combination that will be the brunt of many a joke. Gustavsson, Gunnarson, Stalberg, Bozak and Caputi just to name a few, signify a real change not only with the on ice product, but within the entire organization as well. Part of Brian Burkes' mandate when he took over was to change the age old thinking that polluted the entire Toronto Maple Leafs team for decades. He has so far done a good job, but there will be some significant issues to address this off season. The lack of a complete hockey team is certainly not the least of them.
