Toronto Maple Leafs: Brian Burke Confirms Two New Trade Offers and More

Toronto Maple Leafs trade speculation just became even hotter.

Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke went on the Bill Watters Show on AM640 today and confirmed that he has received to legitimate trade offers.

"We are flexible, we have cap space, we have budget space," said Burke while talking to Watters. "I'd say we haven't even gotten a sniff until the last two days. It's finally starting to heat up...we got two solid hits."

Burke then continued on, saying that he and Dave Nonis are not going to rush into making a trade. When asked about the possibility of adding a $5-6 million player, Burke said that it is definitely a possibility, citing that that was one of the reasons Jeff Finger was sent to the American Hockey League.

Ken Beckett of HockeyBuzz.com confirmed that the Maple Leafs had a scout at the Montreal Canadiens game against the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday night. He also reminded his Twitter followers that it was just last weekend when ESPN Boston reported that Blake Wheeler and Matt Hunwick of the Boston Bruins are being shopped around the league.
