Tim Kennedy Down; Todd White On Defense For New York Rangers?

According to the official Twitter account of the New York Rangers, Tim Kennedy has been sent down to Hartford Whale-pack. Kennedy, who saw no time in the first two games of the season, played very well in the preseason. However, he does not offer more as a player than the other Rangers in the bottom six.

Expect Kennedy to help out the struggling Mats Zucarello-Aasen down in Hartford. Just two years ago, Kennedy scored 67 points (18 G 49 A) in 73 games in his 08-09 AHL season. MZA is lacking a playmaking center to play with in Hartford and the current skill of the Whale is lacking up front. Kennedy will be a quick remedy to that situation.

Also, another interesting bit of news from Rangerland is that veteran center Todd White might move to defense as he has a left-handed shot, a current need for the NYR defense corps.
