Three NHL Rookies to Watch Out for Next Season

Though there are many rookies (drafted and yet to be drafted) to choose from, these select three have caught my eye.

 

Taylor Hall (Drafted by either Edmonton or Boston—likely Edmonton)

While Hall has not yet been drafted, word is that he has already met with Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini, and will be drafted first overall in the upcoming draft.

I know what fans are thinking: The Oilers do not feature many good players, so Hall won't have the opportunity to score much, but that is where you are wrong.

Next season Hall will already have some good offensive players around him in a healthy Ales Hemsky and Ryan Whitney, who is a great puck-moving defenseman. Hall will also have the likes of rookies Jordan Eberle and Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson.

The Oilers also have a lot of cap to sign free agents and will have even more once they trade Sheldon Souray, who demanded a trade.

Point prediction: 70-75
