The Pittsburgh Penguins’ Toughest Opponents for the 2010-11 NHL Season

Almost every NHL player or coach will tell you that each opponent is difficult to go up against for some reason. There is no such thing as an "easy" opponent, no matter how many times you beat them on the scoreboard.

But for each team, some opponents are harder to play than others. Whether it is because of a long-standing rivalry or facing a rematch against the team that defeated you in the Stanley Cup Playoffs last year, some opponents inspire players to leave it all on the ice.

The Pittsburgh Penguins will play every team in the NHL at least once in the 2010-11 season. With the opening of the Consol Energy Center and a second appearance in the Winter Classic, there is plenty to be excited about.

I have chosen 11 teams that I feel will give the Penguins their biggest challenges this year. This list was based on how the Penguins fared against these opponents in the 2009-10 regular season. We'll also look at which players who were important to the series and other players who can be Penguin killers.

By the way, Pens fans, although I understand that the videos in this slideshow do not show the Penguins' best moments, that is the point. ...
