The New Jersey Devils have officially started their off-season again; they are currently looking for a new head coach and to re-sign several players. Here is the latest.

 

The New Jersey Devils are currently undergoing talks with defenseman Mike Mottau. They are believed to be close on a contract extension, but there is still some work to be done.

My take : I personally really want Mike Mottau back and think he should make around $2.5 million. He was one the best Devils defenseman all season long and averaged around 20 minutes a night.

 

The New Jersey Devils are not even close to re-signing defenseman Paul Martin as he will not begin talks until the Devils hire a new coach. Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said they will take their time to make sure they make the right decision.

My take : Paul Martin is a very good two-way defenseman and I would like to have him back, however, it appears as though he has played his last game as a Devil.
