The Canucks Look Like the Real Deal

The past two games against the Ottawa Senators and the Calgary Flames have been the best four periods of hockey I have seen the Nucks play this season. I mention four periods because the Canucks owned the Sens in every category for the whole three periods and with the Flames only the first period.

The speed and puck movement really caught my eye, as everyone had a lot of jump. The puck movement from the defensive zone to breaking forwards and on the power play was tape to tape variety and reminded me of the Detroit Red Wings of a couple of years ago. It was the zoom zoom kids making the opposition look like pedestrians waiting for the walk light.

Kevin Bieksa, who was quoted in the Vancouver media that “he felt quicker” than before his injury, was true to his word. He was attacking the oncoming forwards, moving to the open ice, and jumping up into the play better than he has done all season. Now this reminds me of the Kevin Bieksa that we knew in his first year.
