18 year old Sidney Crosby played his first game in a Pittsburgh Penguins uniform on October 5, 2005. Although a -2 in that night's 5-1 loss to New Jersey, Crosby registered his first point in his NHL career on a goal by Mark Recchi.

Every fan had hopes that Crosby would be the answer that not only Pittsburgh, but the NHL was looking for. Even with a terrible team record that began with an 0-4-5 start, Crosby was able to make the highlight reel.

When he put on the No. 87 for the Pittsburgh Penguins, he brought a new element that fans had not seen since Mario Lemieux's prime.
