The New York Rangers are -150 moneyline favorites for Friday night as they play host to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the deciding Game 7 of the NHL's Eastern Conference Final at Madison Square Garden.
What started out as a low-scoring series has evolved into a high-scoring battle, with the Rangers seeing their 15-game streak of consecutive one-goal games in the postseason ending in Game 2 with a 6-2 home loss to the Lightning.
The over has now cashed on the NHL betting totals in four of the past five games of the Lightning vs. Rangers betting matchup following a 2-1 win for New York in Game 1.
The winner scored at least five goals in Games 2, 3, 4 and 6 of the series, with Tampa Bay needing just a pair in a 2-0 win at New York in Game 5. Four of the last five games in the Eastern Conference Final have been decided by at least two goals, including a surprising 7-3 road victory by the Rangers in Game 6 on Tuesday.
The seven goals by New York in that contest were the team’s most in a game since a 7-2 home win against the Anaheim Ducks back on March 22.
