St. Louis Blues right winger T.J. Oshie suffered a scary injury on Thursday night against the Minnesota Wild.

Oshie was skating the puck out of his own zone when Wild left winger Mike Rupp came across and blindsided him with a vicious hit. Rupp connected with Oshie's head, sending him to the ice.

The Blues announced the 27-year-old is out for the rest of the game:

St. Louis color analyst Kelly Chase wondered aloud how much Rupp's hit may have hurt the rest of the Blues' season:



The Wild winger received a match penalty for his efforts, meaning he faces an automatic suspension until the NHL's Department of Player Safety reviews the incident, per Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:
