Stat Trick: Isles 4, Atlanta 1: Moulson’s hat trick leads the way

Matt Moulson scored three consecutive goals and the Islanders rallied from a 1-0 deficit as New York defeated Atlanta 4-1 at Philips Arena on Thursday niight. On to the trick:  1.Vyasckeslav Kozlov scored Atlanta's only tally at 9:01 of the first period, and the Thrashers carried that lead into the intermission.  It was the only goal allowed by Dwayne Roloson, who made 26 saves to win his third straight start and improved to 9-2-5 on the season. Kozlov also extended his consecutive game streak to a Thrasher—record 227 games.  2.The rest of the game belonged to Matt Moulson, who tied the game 1:47 into the second period with a goal on a slap shot. He gave the Islanders the lead with the game—winning power play goal later in the second period. His third period goal with less than seven minutes, which essentially put the game away, competed the hat trick. Those were the only goals allowed by Ondrej Pavelec, who made 23 saves.  3.John Tavares added an empty—netter with less than a second to play to seal the victory.
