Finally, the San Jose Sharks won a postseason game in overtime.
After the Sharks lost their first four games in extra time this postseason, Joonas Donskoi's wrist shot in overtime gave them a crucial Game 3 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins, who lead the series 2-1.
That sets up an important Game 4 in San Jose on Monday night. Here's the full remaining schedule for the series:
The Penguins will come into Game 4 as the underdogs (+117), with the Sharks (-139) favored to even the series, according to Odds Shark.
And it's hard to imagine Game 4 not coming down to the wire. Pittsburgh scored the game-winning goal in Game 1 with just 2:33 remaining in the third period. Games 2 and 3 ended in overtime. Little has separated these teams in what has already been an epic Stanley Cup Final.
“It’s big,” Joe Thornton said of the win, per David Pollak of the New York Times. “We haven’t had the lead too much in this series. To win this one, it’s a huge confidence booster, and now we just need to continue it in Game 4.”
