Sidney Crosby: Peguins Superstar Set to Return vs. Rangers Thursday

Sidney Crosby's long journey back to the ice will culminate with his return to game action on Thursday when the Pittsburgh Penguins go on the road to play the New York Rangers, according to a report from the team's official website. 

"I feel good and the plan is to play Thursday," Crosby said. "I got a good practice and I'm looking forward to getting out there Thursday."

Crosby hasn't played since December 5, after dealing with concussion-like symptoms. He was cleared for contact last week and is now poised to make his return to the NHL. 

 

What It Means



The Penguins are basically pulling off a de facto blockbuster deal without having to give up anything. When healthy, Crosby is the best and most dynamic player in the world.

He changes games like no one else in the sport. 

To top it off, the Penguins have the second-most points (89) in the Eastern Conference right now, just four behind the New York Rangers.
