Remembering the Nordiques: A Look Back at a Franchise that Deserved a Better Fate

The province of Quebec is passionate about a number of things, but hockey among all reigns supreme. Like many Canadians, it is a part of their culture and livelihood, they live and breath the game. Which is why when the Quebec Nordiques franchise was moved to Colorado, it ripped the hearts out of many francophone's as well as numerous fans all over the Country. Not that the Winnipeg Jets moving to Phoenix was any less of a sting, but the Nordiques were a team on the rise, and the 1995 Stanley Cup win in their first season after the move left a bitter sweet taste in the mouths of Nords fans. While the Montreal Canadiens will always be number one in the hearts of many Quebec residents, the province clings to the hope of soon bringing back their beloved Nordiques. Now a look back at some great moments, some great players, and hopefully a history book in which the final chapter has yet to be written. Begin Slideshow
