Final Score: 3-1 Devils

The Devils outplayed the Rangers in the first meeting of the season between the Atlantic Division Rivals. 

Adam Henrique scored the first goal of the game at the five minute mark of the first period after putting the puck home on a pass from Patrik Elias.

David Clarkson added another with time dwindling down in the first period after Rick Nash couldn't control a bouncing puck in front of his own net.

It was a surprise that the Devils led after the first period because they took four penalties in the first twenty minutes, but the Rangers couldn't convert. The Devils have successfully killed their last 12 penalties dating back to their last game Saturday against the New York Islanders.

The second period was uneventful, neither team had many scoring chances nor did either team take any penalties.

In the third, David Clarkson would bang home his second of the game after Henrik Lundqvist let out a rebound from an Andy Greene slapshot from the point.
