Possible Return of a Legend: Oilers To Bring Back Smyth?

Today, a very interesting tweet came up on my screen. It was TSN's own Ryan Rishaug. The tweets were the following:

 "Oilers need veteran leader to play 3rd line-top 6 fill in minutes. Have extra cap space. How bout trading for Ryan Smyth? Very good fit."

 "I believe mgmt would strongly consider it if the right deal were there. Had the kings gotten kovalchuk, it would have made sense for both."

"Re:smyth Enough time has passed, all wounds would be healed instand captain. The trick is getting l-a to do the deal, I think he'd waive ntc"

"If I had to venture a guess on smyth, I'd say if it happens, it'd be an in-season deal if the right pieces fall into place with l-a's needs"

Now, Ryan Rishaug has been dead on with Oilers news for a while, and might be on to something here. The Oilers are in need of a vet who can lead both on and off the ice. Smyth would be the perfect fit for the Oilers.

Smyth has played in Edmonton before and knows how to get it done. He has played in a Stanley Cup Finals series, and can still be a 20-30 goal scorer. Bringing him back would add another punch to the Oile ...
