The San Jose Sharks are alive and breathing in the Stanley Cup Final.
They fought, scratched and clawed to take Game 3 from the Pittsburgh Penguins at the SAP Center Saturday night, and their efforts were successful when Joonas Donskoi scored 12:18 into the first overtime.
Donskoi came sweeping around the Pittsburgh net with speed, and as he circled to the front of the net, he spun and shot in the same motion. The high wrister whistled past Penguins goalie Matt Murray and gave San Jose the 3-2 victory.
Pittsburgh still leads the series 2-1, with Game 4 scheduled for Monday night in San Jose. NBC will televise the game nationally at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, and you can stream it on NHL.TV.
While the Sharks were able to breathe a huge sigh of relief after getting their first win in the series, San Jose head coach Peter DeBoer still has a lot to be concerned about. The Penguins carried the play once again and outshot their hosts 42-26 throughout the game.
