Goaltender Ondrej Pavelec of the Atlanta Thrashers collapsed on Friday night against the Washington Capitals, just 2:25 into the game.
Unconscious, he lay motionless on the ice for several minutes, receiving attention from both teams' medical officials.
Pavelec was taken off the ice on a stretcher, and was sent to the hospital where preliminary tests came back negative. He regained consciousness in the ambulance with a ton of questions and a lack of feeling in his legs.
It's obvious that he has a one-track mind for hockey, because one of the first things he asked about when he woke up was the score of the game.
Well, Ondrej, your Thrashers won the game for you, with a final score of 4-2. You owe Evander Kane dinner, as he scored two goals in the win.
Saturday, it was released that Pavelec had suffered a concussion and would be staying in the hospital overnight, so doctors can run a few more tests.
According to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journalism Constitution, who scored an interview with the confused goaltender, Pavelec says he doesn't recall playing in the game.
