NHL Trades 2013: How Jaromir Jagr and Derek Roy Trades Shake Up Playoff Race

Although the Dallas Stars are unlikely to contend for the Stanley Cup this year, the organization made two huge moves on Tuesday that will affect the rest of the NHL season. 

The club started things off by trading its leading scorer Jaromir Jagr to the Boston Bruins. Bob McKenzie of TSN reports that the Stars will receive prospects Lane MacDermid and Cody Payne in return:



ESPN's Jimmy Murphy reports that Boston will also send over a conditional second-round pick:



In addition, the Stars traded away top assist man Derek Roy to the Vancouver Canucks, which was confirmed by the team's official Twitter account:



Kevin Connauton is a defensive prospect currently playing for the Chicago Wolves in the AHL.

While two draft picks and three young players represent a solid haul for Dallas, the trades highlight big changes for the other clubs involved.
