The Detroit Red Wings are finding themselves in an unfamiliar place: They have multiple spots on the roster they need to fill.

They are used to being one of the deepest teams in the NHL.

It was by Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos that Ryan Suter, the biggest defenseman on the free-agent market this offseason, was leaning toward signing with the Wings and would fill the huge hole that was left when future Hall of Famer Nicklas Lidstrom retired:

No dice though, as Suter decided to join Zach Parise and sign with the Minnesota Wild.

I don't believe that it is time for Detroit to go into panic mode because they have an immense amount of super-stardom still on the roster, but what is the next move for the Wings?
