NHL Trade Rumors: It may be chilly in Buffalo, but the Brad Richards action will be hot this offseason
The Buffalo Sabres have one of the best goaltenders in the NHL and a young defense that could be really solid in the future. Adding a top line center like Brad Richards could put their offense over the edge and into a serious playoff run.
Richards would be the focal point of the Sabres offense and with Richards having a winger like Thomas Vanek, the result could be trouble for the Eastern Conference.
While Vanek has been a solid scorer in the NHL, he has never had a playmaker like Richards next to him and the Sabres could take a big step forward if they go after him on July 1.
