NHL Trade Rumors: Reviewing Reports Surrounding Andrew Ladd and More

The NHL trade deadline is less than a week away, and based on recent history, there will be a slew of moves that will involve the majority of the league's 30 teams.

Some will be major moves, like the one that saw the New York Rangers acquire defenseman Keith Yandle from the Arizona Coyotes a year ago, while the vast majority will not involve big-name players.

However, they all will have a purpose. Some teams want some veteran help to give them a better chance of having a long run in the postseason, while other teams are hoping to get something for a veteran player who will be a free agent at the end of the season. By moving that player by the trade deadline, a team can at least get something in return for the future.

One of those players is forward Andrew Ladd of the Winnipeg Jets, who is scheduled to be a free agent at the end of the season. Since the Jets recently re-signed defenseman Dustin Byfuglien to a multi-year contract, they are not expected to do the same with Ladd. The left wing has scored 16 goals and 17 assists this season, and has topped the 20-goal mark four times in his career.
