NHL Trade Rumors: Latest on Dan Bylsma, Red Wings and Thomas Vanek

As soon as the Los Angeles Kings hoisted the Stanley Cup, the attention of the NHL world immediately turned to the impending offseason.

After all, with free agency rapidly approaching (July 1), teams have a limited amount of time to formulate their plans of attack. Throw in the NHL draft, and it promises to be a busy offseason, even if the free-agent crop isn’t loaded with game-changing talent.

With that in mind, here are some of the latest rumors from around the NHL.

 

Dan Bylsma Heading to Florida? 



William DePaoli of InsidePittsburghSports.com filled fans in on the latest regarding Dan Bylsma:



Bylsma was recently fired by the Pittsburgh Penguins, but he has an impressive overall resume. He won a Stanley Cup in 2009 and NHL Coach of the Year honors in 2011 and is as close to a proven commodity as a team like the Florida Panthers could hope to land.



Bylsma and Pittsburgh finished 51-24-7 last year but suffered a disappointing loss to the New York Rangers in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Penguins also ...
