NHL Trade Rumors: Examining Latest Chatter Around the League

With the NHL trade deadline less than 24 hours away, phones are ringing off the hook.

There has naturally been an uptick in rumors lately as teams attempt to either solidify their squads or rebuild by the deadline. This is where you separate the contenders from the pretenders.

Here's a look at some top rumors as we get closer to the trade deadline.

 

Where Will Ryane Clowe Land?



A report out of Newfoundland has the Philadelphia Flyers eventually acquiring San Jose Sharks right winger Ryane Clowe, according to Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com.

Clowe does have a no-trade clause, but LeBrun claims "it sounds like that won’t be an issue."

The Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins, Minnesota Wild, Vancouver Canucks and New York Rangers are also reportedly in the mix.

The 30-year-old veteran has posted 11 assists in 28 games with the Sharks this season. While he hasn't posted a goal this season, Katie Strang of ESPNNewYork.com noted that the Rangers "like his gritty style of play."
