NHL Trade Rumors: Buzz and Analysis Surrounding Jeff Skinner, Bryan Bickell

It seems that the NHL trade market is experiencing a bit of a summer vacation, as the transactions have slowed significantly since their frantic rate at the beginning of July.

This does not necessarily mean that the market is all dried up. There are still some big names that could be switching cities in the upcoming days and weeks as the NHL settles into its offseason. A struggling side in the Eastern Conference and the defending Stanley Cup champions could be moving assets in the near future.

 

Jeff Skinner Carolina Hurricanes forward Jeff Skinner has been having problems replicating the success he found in his rookie season.

As an 18-year-old, Skinner recorded a career-high 63 points with 31 goals and 32 assists. Since then, he has only come as close as 54 points in 2013-14.

Last season, he recorded just 31 points in 77 games as the Hurricanes have now gone six seasons since they made the playoffs—an Eastern Conference Final appearance in 2009.
