Multiple sources report that the Ottawa Senators will host the 2012 NHL All-Star Game. The NHL is expected to make its official announcement Wednesday.

Located within the province of Ontario, Canada's capital is the last Canadian city among current NHL franchises to receive an All-Star Game.

The Ottawa Senators joined the league in 1992, along with the Tampa Bay Lightning, as a revival of the original Ottawa Senators franchise that played in the NHL from 1917 until 1934.

Since their inception in the early '90s, the Senators have been one of the NHL's most successful expansion teams. The team has only missed the playoffs once since the lockout and advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2006, losing to the Ducks in five games.
