NHL Skills Competition Video: Corey Perry Dangles with Mini Stick

Corey Perry was very entertaining in the Breakaway Challenge tonight. He attempted some lacrosse inspired spin moves early on in the event, but his final shot was pure gold.

Perry started off skating down the ice and then pulled up. He started lifting his jersey and then reached for a mini stick. He then proceeded to deke out Brian Elliot for the goal. This was one of the best moments of the night because of its creativity. Perry was arguably one of the contenders in this competition but was forgotten about.

Patrick Kane's goal was great in its own right, but the Superman cape has already been done in contests like this before. Everyone remembers Dwight Howard's Superman dunk in the NBA All-Star game. Personally, I thought Kane's last shot was the most creative, but everyone will remember his dive.

Nonetheless, Perry's shot was very creative and funny, and it reminded many fans about the past days of floor hockey as a little kid. I know that Dan Girardi was a member of Team Alfredsson, but I wonder if Perry borrowed Landon Girardi's stick for the competition.
