Expect Teemu Selanne to sign a two-year deal in the next week. I don't understand why the Ducks keep signing players over 35 to two-year deals. If Selanne retires, the cap hit will still count next year; and the same goes for Andy Sutton.

Paul Kariya will soon talk with Ducks management. I don't understand what's taking him so long to talk to them if he really does want to come back. I would think it's a negotiating ploy but I don't think he should be asking for much, anyway.

The Detroit Red Wings are all of a sudden on Willie Mitchell's short list. So he wants to play for San Jose, Washington, Vancouver or Detroit. Expect a one to two-year deal worth between $1.5 and two million. He would have been offered a lot more if not for the concussion. I wonder if someone will give him a long term contract with a low cap hit.

The number of legitimate offers for Kaberle that Burke would accept is now three. It is a most intriguing scenario. I fully expect Tomas Kaberle to be traded by August 15th when his NTC officially kicks in again.
