Reports on Sportsnet claim that the Toronto Maple Leafs are one of many teams interested in Tim Kennedy. The other teams are the Oilers, Blackhawks, Blues, Islanders, and Penguins. The reason none of these teams claimed him on waivers is that his salary of $1 million may not be prohibitive, but is still too much for him. Clearly, these teams expect him to be a depth player and nothing more. 

Lee Stempniak is getting a lot of attention lately. My guess is that he has lowered his asking price, though probably still not low enough for a team to sign him.

TSN reports that with the Kovalchuk ruling, the NHL is now looking into the contracts of Marc Savard, Roberto Luongo, Marian Hossa, and Chris Pronger. I don't know why Zetterberg and Franzen are not being investigated. I guess Bettman likes Ken Holland. The point is, it's about damn time!

Jerry D'amigo signed an entry level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He says he signed with the Leafs and intends to play for them and not some junior team.
