NHL Rumors: Latest Buzz on Miikka Kiprusoff, Daniel Alfredsson, Artem Anisimov

Now that the Stanley Cup Final is over, the NHL rumor mill is about to kick into high gear.

It's still pretty early in the offseason, so the real juicy stuff is still weeks down the road. There's still plenty to look forward to right now, though. The 2013 NHL draft is on Sunday, and teams are looking to lock up players with expiring contracts.

Here are three updates on players whose futures with their current teams are still up in the air.

 

Miikka Kiprusoff Still Headed for Retirement



Juha Hiitela of Finnish news service Urheilusanomat reported Miikka Kiprusoff was headed for retirement.

However, Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos reported the Columbus Blue Jackets are going to try and sway the goaltender out of retirement.



The 36-year-old Kiprusoff has seen better days. He finished with a 8-14-2 record as the Calgary Flames finished 13th in the Western Conference. His 3.44 goals against average was the worst of his career, while his .882 save percentage was the second-worst of his career.

Kiprusoff has spent the last nine seasons with the Flames.
