An abbreviated NHL season means that teams are more willing to trade slow starters, and this year is no exception. Patience wears thin when every game counts, so GMs are quick to pull the trigger on a deal if it could mean an instant hot streak.
A deal featuring future Hall-of-Famer Daniel Alfredsson could be on the horizon, but only if the Ottawa Senators hit a cold streak. The man is still a fine producer at age 40, so a great deal of interested teams are sure to lineup.
In Colorado, trade speculation abounds on a certain blueliner, but nothing is definite yet. However, the Ryan O'Reilly saga is continuing, and not for the better.
