Everyone and their mother have stated that the proposed trade of Dustin Brown for Tomas Kaberle is complete fiction. While it is still possible, it has not happened yet (and I don't really expect it to happen), but you never know (that's why you read these rumours isn't it?).

I have said it for a while now, Tomas Kaberle is almost certainly going to get dealt by Sunday. This is going right down to the wire as Burke wants the best price possible for Kaberle.

James Mirtle reports that Eric Belanger has signed with the Washington Capitals to a one year $1.85 million contract. There is no danger of the deal falling through as they have ample cap space and have yet to reach the 50 contract limit. However, the trade they are about to make may have lost some leverage after this report.

The deal the Capitals are working on involves a defenceman, as they are expected to flip a forward for a defenceman, possibly Tomas Fleischmann. I personally think they should deal Alexander Semin as he would get a better return and is being ill-used on the Capitals forward ranks.
