We have a new No. 1 team in our weekly power rankings.
There's actually quite a bit of movement this week. Several teams made big jumps; a few others had steep declines. Five different teams within three points of 30th overall have impressive records in their last 10 games. At the top of the standings, Dallas, New York and Montreal are in fierce competition for first. In between, there's all kids of jockeying for position.
Once again, we turn to our expert panel to break down the league's 30 clubs. This week, Adrian Dater, Allan Mitchell, Lyle Richardson, Carol Schram and yours truly voted to determine the order of the list that follows. As always, we're attempting to look beyond the NHL standings here and provide some unique insight. Also as always, we're going to have mixed results.
