NHL Playoffs 2012: The 2012 New York Rangers and Their 1994 Counterparts

Every fan of the New York Rangers has their distant and increasingly fading memories of that glorious team from 1994.

Guys like Messier, Leetch, Graves and even Matteau (x3) will always have a special place in our hearts after the magical spring of 1994 ended the drought of 54 years without a Stanley Cup title.

Almost two decades later, Rangers fans are hoping to relive that magical spring from 18 years ago vicariously through this new roster of Blueshirts.

Although the styles of many of those players will never be duplicated, here is my comparison of the current New York Rangers team and some of their 1994 counterparts.

Obviously many of the similarities are not exact but I did my best to draw parallels between the two squads.
