NHL Playoffs 2011: Breaking Down the 2nd Period of Blackhawks-Canucks

NHL Playoffs, The score did not change after the duration of the 2nd period, but the tempo and overall feel of the game certainly did. What seemed to be pure domination on the Canucks part has changed to a back and forth affair with the Blackhawks trailing.

The period started with a slashing call against Vancouver captain Henrik Sedin. The Blackhawks would hit the post on the power play; which would become somewhat of a trend for the rest of the period.

Duncan Keith would continue to struggle through the second period as he was unable to pass and control the puck well. The Blackhawks would go on to miss a breakaway opportunity for Marian Hossa; which is in opposite of Mikael Samuelsson's off the post breakaway attempt.

Corey Crawford made some excellent saves in the 2nd period after Roberto Luongo stole the show in the 1st. The chances were there for Chicago, and "lady luck" did not seem to be on their side so far on the night.

It can be expected to see a fast-paced game; in which the Canucks do not take their feet off the gas pedal because Chicago seems to be on the charge, and has shaken off some of the jitters that were seen at the beginning of the ...
