The Pittsburgh Penguins put themselves in a difficult position when they blew a late lead in Game 5 at the Consol Energy Center and allowed the Tampa Bay Lightning to secure a 4-3 overtime victory on Sunday.

That loss gave the Lightning the opportunity to go home Tuesday night and secure the series on their own home ice at the Amalie Arena.

However, the Penguins were not about to let that happen. They jumped out to a 3-0 lead, survived a Tampa Bay rally and pulled out a 5-2 victory to send the series to a decisive seventh game.

Sidney Crosby scored the goal that made it 3-0, and his brilliant snipe between the legs of Tampa Bay goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy proved to be the game-winner. Now, Crosby has a chance to get his team back to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since the Pens won it all in 2009.



The Penguins and the Lightning will face off at 8 p.m. Thursday night in Pittsburgh. The NHL playoffs can be streamed on NHL.TV.
