New Jersey Devils beat writer Tom Gulitti is reporting that the Adam Mair is attending the Devils training camp on a tryout basis.

My take: I think he has a very good chance of making the team. If he doesn't, no harm is done and he will remain an unrestricted free agent.

Earlier today Gulitti asked Devils GM Lou Lamoriello if the door is closed for Mike Mottau to return, he replied the door "is not closed."

My take: I think the only way Mottau returns is if Lamoriello can move a defenseman or two at least. If Mottau doesn't return to the Devils, he shouldn't have a problem getting a contract somewhere in the NHL as he averaged around 20 minutes a game last season and would sign at a very reasonable price.

On a side note Devils prospects Alex Urbom, Mattias Tedenby, and Jacob Josefson are among those hoping for a roster spot. When I asked Tom Gulitti about the chances of them making the team he replied saying  "they will be given a shot." Gulitti also noted it is "probably too much" to expect all three to make the team but said "you never know."
