NHL Lockout: Overseas Stars Fans Should Be Watching While Labor Dispute Rages On

While many NHL players are standing around with their arms crossed, awaiting the end of the current lockout, others, like Alexander Ovechkin and Ilya Kovalchuk, are wasting no time, excelling overseas for European clubs.

The latest lockout developments came on Thursday, when the NHL made an offer to the Players' Association. But the situation on the league's lockout front remains unchanged. And instead of sitting and waiting like many of the owners and players, NHL fans must turn their attention overseas, where a handful of NHLers are setting the ice on fire.

 

Evgeni Malkin, Metallurg Magnitogorsk



The reigning NHL MVP, Evgeni Malkin has been an absolute stud for KHL club Metallurg Magnitogorsk this season, tallying 54 points through his first 34 games with the squad. 

Malkin currently ranks second in the KHL in points, and leads all in assists with 36 total.
