NHL Lockout: Detroit’s Ian White Speaks out Against Gary Bettman

As the lockout continues on with no end in sight, most players have been relatively quiet in regards of talking to the media about the lockout. Some players have taken to Twitter to let their thoughts be known, but most have stayed silent.

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Ian White made it very clear on Friday what his thoughts were about NHL commissioner Gary Bettman and the lockout. In an interview with USA Today, White held nothing back when asked about the whole ordeal. 

"I gotta be honest. I personally think he's an idiot. Since he's come in, I think he's done nothing but damage the game."

White's frustrations were set off by Bettman's suggestion that the NHL and the NHLPA take a two-week break from negotiations. Bettman offered up this idea on Wednesday and it has been met with spite by players and fans since.

His comments did not stop at criticizing Bettman, though. The defenseman continued on to criticize the entire process as well as the owners.
