NHL Draft: An In-Depth Look at Alex Burmistrov

With the NHL draft now only a few weeks away, I am going to take a look at top prospect Alex Burmistrov, at the pros and cons of his game and where he might end up...

 

Pros: Alex Burmistrov is a take flight prospect for a few reasons, one of which is his world class speed. I watched him play live for the Barrie Colts (OHL) and his speed always seemed to stand out, also his hands are just outstanding.

Every time he touched the puck you got the feeling that he was going to make a play whether they scored or not.

Another thing that scouts really like about Alex Burmistrov is that he will play the PK and is not afraid to block shots. I am not saying he will block shots for fun, but he will not back down.

What has every NHL team interested in him is the fact that he is committed to playing in the NHL and showed that by leaving Russia and playing in the OHL for two years. His dream is to play in the NHL, and it looks like it is going to happen.
