NHL: Daniel Carcillo Should Be Suspended for His Hit on Ruslan Fedotenko

In tonight's New York Rangers vs. Philadelphia Flyers game, the Flyers "tough-guy" Dan Carcillo threw a blindside hit at Rangers forward Ruslan Fedotenko.

No penalty was called on Carcillo, though it was clear that he hit Fedotenko in the face with his elbow and left his feet while making the hit.

A terrible non-call by the Philadelphia referees but the NHL is expected to review the hit.

I asked New York Rangers beat writer Andrew Gross of The Record if he believes the NHL will take a look at the hit, and he responded:

"Count on the NHL reviewing Carcillo's hit."

Later in the game, the New York Rangers tough-guy Brandon Prust fought Dan Carcillo, and rocked him with a few strong right-handed jabs to the face. Of course, Carcillo would end up with the take-down, which ended the fight, but overall the fight was won by Brandon Prust.

I will cover the hit by Carcillo and much more in tomorrow's post and pre-game stories.

In the meantime, leave your view on the hit in the comment section below.
