NHL: Chicago Blackhawks Come Up with First Win on Season Vs. Buffalo Sabres

Overtaking Ryan Miller (reigning Vezina Trophy Winner) and the Buffalo Sabres appeared to be a risky task for the winless Chicago Blackhawks.

Within a blink of an eye, the Blackhawks were down 2-0 in the first with goals from Drew Stafford and Derek Roy.

Just minutes after, hometown hero Patrick Kane put Chicago on the board to make it only a one goal game.

A massive upset came during the 1st period, as Defensemen Niklas Hjalmarsson banged Right Wing Jason Pominville into the boards.

Pominville was gradually taken off the ice and Hjalmarsson found his way to the locker room as he was ejected for a game misconduct.

After what seemed to be a devastating first period for Blackhawks’ fans, Marian Hossa came to the rescue.

Before getting to Hossa’s astonishing performance last night, Nick Leddy scored his first goal to tie the game 2-2. Captain Jonathan Toews did the genuine thing and hurriedly grabbed the puck for Leddy to take home.
