NHL Buzz: Tuesday’s Rumors

Here is the latest news and buzz from around the NHL this afternoon.

Leafs GM Brian Burke, appeared on Sportsnet this afternoon to discuss the Maple Leafs and noted that they have received two offers for Tomas Kaberle. He also noted that the Leafs will be active on July 1st. (http://www.sportsnet.ca/video/latest/Burke-on-Kaberle)

Speculation is that Marty Turco could be the next goaltender for the San Jose Sharks.

The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed Nicklas Lidstrom to a one year deal that will earn him between 6-7.5 million dollars.

The Columbus Blue Jackets could trade their first round pick for a NHL established player, likely a defenseman a la Tomas Kaberle as they are expected to make the playoffs next year.

Ducks GM Bob Murray, and defenseman James Wisniewski, are not close to signing a contract extension.

The Calgary Flames have turned there attention to trying to re-sign restricted free agent Ian White.
