NHL Buzz: The Latest on Sheldon Souray, Nazem Kadri, Bryce Salvador, and More

After about two or three weeks away from the Bleacher Report, I have decided to come back (at least for now).

Sheldon Souray has cleared waivers but he can still be placed on re-entry waivers. If and when that happens the Columbus Blue Jackets and believe it or not the New York Rangers could put a claim on him.

My take: I think he would be a great fit on both teams but the better fit appears to be Columbus. The Blue Jackets don't want to spend too much cap but they do want a puck-moving defenseman. If they have a chance to get one for approximately $2.5 million and get him without giving up any assets it could turn out to be a great move.

Nazem Kadri will be in the Leafs lineup tonight and tomorrow but unless he contributes like he did last game he will find himself in the AHL (at least for the start of the season).

My take: I think that is the right move. They gave him a shot to earn a spot and he hasn't taken advantage of that. Kadri does still have two games remaining but he will have to show that he is capable of playing in the NHL right now.
