Now that it's the offseason, writers like me love to speculate about what may occur based on what we hear. Here are the latest rumors from around the NHL.

It appears that the three main options for Ilya Kovalchuk are the Devils, Kings, and of course the KHL. Personally I think Kovalchuk will stay in the NHL, which eliminates the KHL but with the rumors I have heard in the last few days I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave for Russia.

The Florida Panthers are shopping almost every player on the team. Nathan Horton is generating the most interest. The Leafs, Rangers and Sabres appear the most interested.

I think Horton would be a great fit for all three teams as he would play on the top-6 for all three teams and could see an increase in point production on a new team.

If the New Jersey Devils can't get their hands on Leafs defenseman Tomas Kaberle they will likely focus in on a guy like Dan Hamhuis.

As a Devils fan, I would love to see Kaberle or Hamhuis on the team. However, cap wise Kaberle would be a better fit as Hamhuis would be looking for around $3.5-$4 million per year, which is only slightly less then Kaberle.
